On a day-to-day basis I work on account management through writing press materials, media relations in a variety of mediums and marketplaces, social media community management and content development, media monitoring, event planning, account planning and strategic counseling.

Institute for International Journalism  |  Foreign Correspondent  |  London  |  2012

Act as an ambassador and content producer for the Scripps Institute for International Journalism, working in various countries on assignment, as well as creating special reports domestically. Create original content from the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Produce and edit video, photography, and written-storytelling content for the Scripps IIJ blog and quarterly newsletter, Global Spotlight.

Project C: Clicking Creates Change  |  PR Director  |  Athens, Ohio  |  2012

Supervised public relations, marketing, and fundraising teams. Created and managed project timelines. Wrote and distributed news releases and blog posts. Developed fundraising and sponsorship packages for businesses. Met with business owners, managers, and community members to raise funds and awareness for the project. Manage social media communities [Project C on Facebook // @ProjectC_], copy-editing, developed promotional items for publicity, fundraising, and marketing communication goals. Also contributed journalism skills to produce storytelling content for The Gathering Place feature.

Miss Universe Organization  |  PR Intern  |  New York City & Las Vegas  | 2011

Planned and managed NYC media tour with 48 state contestants, touring media outlets such as “Regis and Kelly,” “TODAY” show, WPIX, “Fox and Friends,” and many other broadcast, print, and online outlets. Wrote new content and edited existing press site materials, assembled media kits and fact sheets. Edited titleholder blogs [Miss Universe, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA], crafted photo captions, monitored and organized media credentials. Pitched media outlets for titleholders, clip tracking, built production schedules. Assisted public relations director and coordinator at international media junket in Las Vegas. Directed photographers and videographers at various events leading up to and during the 2011 Miss USA competition.

Develop PR plan for clients “Generation Rx” campaign, wrote and pitched press releases. Mentor underclassmen in media and community relations. Communicate with university publics through programming such as “Dose of Reality Week,” controlled publications, uncontrolled media outlets.
